Wedding car hire: the electric Moke

The elegance of a moment frozen in time. A convertible since 1964 and now electric, the Moke glides silently and effortlessly through your day, leaving plenty of room for what really matters.

The luxury of silence

What first sets a wedding car apart is what it doesn’t do. No engine to drown out the voices, no tinted windows to hide you away, no bodywork that overwhelms the surroundings. The electric Moke is open, low-slung and bright. You don’t get into it – you climb into it.

Four full-size seats, zero emissions, complete silence. It can be driven with a standard Category B licence and is authorised to use all roads, as it is classified as M1, the category for private cars. So you can drive it yourself, or let us do it for you.

Your day

From the town hall to the cocktail party

The Moke isn’t just for one particular moment. It takes you through the day, taking on a different role at every stage.

The arrival

Whether in front of the town hall, the church or the estate gates, it sets the tone without being over the top. A subtle surprise rather than a show of grandeur.

The Breakaway

Between the ceremony and the reception, a moment just for the two of them. A few kilometres to catch their breath, smile and reconnect, away from prying eyes.

The procession

A fleet of Mokes, in the colours available on your wedding day, to transport the witnesses, the children of honour or the guests.

The images

The muse of your memories

The Moke is one of those things that enhances a photograph without ever stealing the limelight. Its silhouette, first seen in 1964, blends perfectly with natural settings: vineyards, olive groves, stone façades, sand, harbours and hilltop villages. It brings a touch of *La Dolce Vita* that modern cars no longer have.

It’s there for life’s special moments:

  • the arrival of the bride and groom
  • travel between locations
  • those stolen moments, far from the crowds
  • spontaneous, bright and lively photos

Destinations

Where we operate

SUNCAR France is based in Nice, in the heart of the Côte d’Azur, and delivers the Moke to your wedding venue or reception. The Alpes-Maritimes, the Var and Provence are our natural stomping ground: Nice, Cannes, Antibes, Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, Saint-Paul-de-Vence, Saint-Tropez, Ramatuelle and the wine estates of the hinterland.

If you’re looking to hire a car for a wedding elsewhere in France, let’s have a chat. We assess each request based on the date, distance and duration.

Professionals

Wedding planners and suppliers

On the Côte d’Azur and in Provence, weddings are mainly held between June and September, and arrangements for wedding car hire begin as early as the start of the year. If you’re a wedding planner, we’ll work around your reverse schedule and that of the venue.

We deliver the vehicle to the venue, adapt to the day’s schedule, and liaise with the photographer and the venue where necessary. Several Mokes can be arranged to form a procession, in the colours available on the day.

When it comes to images, we are happy to work with local photographers, such as Jérémie Bertrand, a high-end wedding photographer on the Côte d’Azur and in Provence. And as for the dress, Martine Toledano is hosting in Nice. As for the flowers, Floral Designer Blush designs bespoke floral arrangements from Nice, and Floral Factory by Niko creates wedding decorations in Provence.

Your values

Responsible elegance

More and more couples want a celebration that reflects their values, without compromising on style. The Moke is 100% electric and silent. It leaves no smoke in the photos, no noise during speeches, and no smell in the grounds of a venue.

It’s a discreet way of balancing the emotion of the big day with respect for the venue hosting your event.

Frequently Asked Questions about Wedding Car Hire

How far in advance do you need to book?
For a wedding between June and September, we recommend that you contact us at the start of the year. Saturdays during the peak season are booked up first, and booking early gives you a choice of colour and the number of vehicles.
Do you deliver the Moke to the venue?
Yes. We will deliver the vehicle to your wedding venue or reception venue. The exact area covered and the terms and conditions are set out in your quote.
Do you need a special licence?
No. The Moke is classified as an M1 vehicle, which is the category for private cars. It can be driven with a standard Category B driving licence and is permitted on all roads.
How many people can get on board?
The Moke has four proper seats. For a procession or a larger group, several vehicles can be linked together.
Can we decorate it in the wedding colours?
Yes. Ribbons, flowers, personalised plaques: the decorations are tailored to your style. We’ll liaise with your florist or wedding planner.
What colours are available?
The fleet changes with the seasons, new arrivals and trends. In 2026, it features Shell White, Wave Blue and Sunlight Yellow. White remains the most popular choice for weddings, but blue and yellow look stunning by the seaside. We will confirm the colours available on your chosen date when we provide your quote.
How much does it cost to hire a wedding car?
Every wedding is different, so our service is quoted on a case-by-case basis, depending on the date, venue, duration and number of vehicles. Tell us about your plans and we’ll get back to you with a detailed proposal.
