Hen party in Nice: the perfect two-day itinerary for a girls’ getaway
Hen Party in Nice : the dream combination for every bride-to-be. A successful hen party is a perfect blend of sunshine, beautiful photos, an activity everyone will still be talking about at the wedding, and absolutely no logistical hassle. Good news: Nice ticks all the boxes. With the Mediterranean as a backdrop, stylish spots within walking distance in heels, and light that makes every photo magazine-worthy. Here’s the itinerary we recommend for groups of friends looking for two intense, elegant days that go off without a hitch.
Day 1 · Morning
An alarm clock that sets the tone
You don’t kick off a weekend with the girls by gulping down a lukewarm coffee whilst standing up. Off to the Garden Café @gardencafenice, often cited as the most photogenic brunch spot in Nice: a glass-roofed terrace, greenery, rattan and dishes that are as pretty as they are generous. Set menus cost around €20 to €25 per person; the value for money is excellent and the morning light is perfect for the group’s first photos. Book in advance: it’s a popular spot, especially at weekends.

Day 1 · Late morning
Shopping in the Golden Square
A ten-minute walk away is the triangle formed by the'Avenue de Verdun, the Paradis Street and the Alphonse Karr Street is home to Nice’s most beautiful shop windows: designers, French fashion houses and jewellers. It’s the perfect time to find an evening outfit or a little gift for the bride-to-be. If your group prefers shops with character, head over to the Old Nice : designers’ workshops, local perfumers and the market at the Saleya Square @explorenicecotedazur so you can leave with your arms full of flowers. One doesn’t rule out the other – everything’s within walking distance.

Day 1 · Afternoon
Sun loungers overlooking the Baie des Anges
Heading for Castel Plage @castelplage, the private beach nestled at the foot of Rauba Capeu, just below the Château Hill. It’s the chic yet laid-back spot on the Promenade: sun loungers and parasols (expect to pay around thirty euros), Mediterranean cuisine, and unobstructed views across the entire Baie des Anges. You can spend the afternoon there swimming, napping and sipping spritzes, whilst the band’s playlist plays softly in the background. Booking is recommended during peak season; the beach is open from April to the end of September.

Day 1 · Evening
Dinner on the rooftops – quite literally
For dinner on your first evening, head up to the sixth floor of the Maison Albar – Le Victoria : its rooftop Taulissa @maisonalbarhotels («on the rooftops» in Provençal) is the place everyone in Nice is talking about. A 360-degree view stretching from the sea to the mountains, with southern French cuisine by Glenn Viel, dishes to share served at your table, a lounge atmosphere with a DJ: the perfect setting for a big hen night. A little nod that gives a clear indication of the establishment’s style: you might just come across their Electric moke, the same one that awaits you the following morning.

The Night Diary
Mama Shelter Nice @mamashelternice : Indoor DJ sets, events all year round (follow the programme on their Instagram).
Gypsy Mum @mamatzigane : «A haven of happiness for intrepid, elegantly disorganised souls», Thursday to Saturday from 7 pm to 2.30 am. Quite a programme.
To the Sound of Guitars @ausondesguitaresnice : the go-to spot in Nice for dancing the night away.
Paola Speakeasy @paolaspeakeasy : the hidden bar that comes alive at the weekend, from 10 pm to 2 am.

And don’t forget to book a table at Taulissa – its terrace is one of the most sought-after in the city.
Day 2 · Morning
The guided Moke tour – the highlight of the day
This is the memory your group will take home with them. Setting off from the port of Nice, you’ll set sail in a small convoy of Electric convertible Mokes, these icons of the 1960s, reimagined as 100 % electric cars. A guide leads the way at the front, whilst you enjoy the ride: the bay of Villefranche, Mont Boron, the bends of the Basse Corniche, hair blowing in the wind and photo stops at the most beautiful viewpoints. Nobody has to drive if nobody feels like it: No licence required, no deposit required, the guides take care of everything.

Key points: 1-hour guided walk, from €100 per person (Sunset option available; half-day Grand Tour of Cap d’Antibes for enthusiastic groups). From 2 people, up to 6 per convoy: the ideal format for a hen party. In French or English. Moke my day!
And if your group includes one or two keen female drivers, the daily hire (from €250, category B driving licence) allows you to extend the experience in complete freedom, from Saint-Tropez to Monaco.
Day 2 · Midday and afternoon
A seafood lunch, relaxation and golden hour
Wind down gently with lunch at Bonaparte's Fish @peixes_restaurant_nice, between Place Garibaldi and the harbour: a large terrace, ceviches and tatakis in an atmosphere as refreshing as the dishes themselves. Purists will prefer a terrace at the Saleya Square, just a stone’s throw away. Then treat the group to the pampering break that makes for the best hen parties: a hotel spa, a group massage or simply an hour’s stroll in the shade of the ochre-coloured façades. At the end of the day, head up to the Castle Hill : this is THE spot for views of the Baie des Anges, and at golden hour, you simply can’t go wrong with a group photo here.

Day 2 · Evening
A night-cap: sunset on the Promenade
To round off the weekend, the rooftop Farago @faragoontheroof, on the rooftop of the AC Hotel on the Promenade des Anglais, is just the ticket: a sunset over the Mediterranean, a final toast to the bride-to-be, and the promise to return. You’ll leave with hundreds of photos and one certainty: a girls’ trip to Nice isn’t something you can describe – it’s something you have to experience for yourself.

Electric Mini Moke: All you need to know about battery reliability and lifespan
The electric Mini Moke battery is the true heart of the vehicle. Silent, convertible, and born in 1964, the electric Mini Moke turns heads all over the Côte d'Azur. But behind the charm lies a technical reality that every buyer should look at first: the battery. It is this that determines the range, longevity, and real cost of Your beach car over time. And it is precisely here that the difference between an authentic Moke and a copy that is attractive on paper is determined.
The starting point
The battery, the true heart of an electric beach buggy
On an electric Moke, the battery isn't an accessory: it's the central component. A well-designed and well-protected battery will give you years of trouble-free cruising. A lower-quality battery quickly reveals its limitations: a collapsing range, interminable recharges, and in the most serious cases, premature deformation or cracking.
Before you compare two beach cars on their price or colour, ask yourself the right question: What battery technology is really under the bonnet?
Technology
Lithium-ion: the technology that makes all the difference
The authentic electric Mini Moke battery, fitted to a vehicle manufactured in England, relies on the technology Lithium-ion. This choice is no trivial matter. Compared to older lead-acid batteries, lithium-ion technology offers:
- A significantly longer lifespan (many more charge cycles),
- a Net weight (77 kg, against much heavier lead blocks),
- A best outfit over time and to heat, without the risk of deformation inherent in lead-acid batteries,
- A Enhanced security : battery temperature indicator, dedicated temperature control, main switch and high-voltage emergency cut-off.
Conversely, many low-end replicas still rely on lead-acid batteries, more sensitive to wear, high temperatures and deformation. On paper, the entry price is attractive. In the long run, the bill increases with the first replacement.
Fancy seeing the real electric Moke up close?

Back in the day
Electric Mini Moke Battery: Lifespan?
The lifespan of a battery is measured in charge cycles, not just in terms of years. Thanks to lithium-ion technology and temperature control, the electric Mini Moke’s battery retains a stable capacity over time, whereas a lower-end battery quickly loses its range. With 129 km range and a Charges in 2 hours from a Type 2 socket (charging point or wallbox), or 4 to 5 hours from a Green'Up high-power socket, you benefit from a vehicle designed to last, season after season. And to drive with peace of mind, the authentic electric Mini Moke is 2-year guarantee, and his Lithium-ion battery 3 years.
Key points
Recognising a reliable battery (and spotting warning signs)
A few red flags about a poorly designed electric beach buggy:
- A falling autonomy clearly from the first or second year,
- South longer and longer recharges,
- batteries that swell, leak or crack (a typical fault of lead-acid batteries),
- lack of clear information on the Battery type installed.
The right reflex before buying: ask for the battery technology in black and white. The authentic Mini Moke electric battery states it clearly: lithium-ion.
The origin
Authentic or replica: why origin changes everything
A replica might seem like a good deal, until the day a battery dies. And then the questions start: what warranty? what genuine parts? which workshop in France? With a Authentic Moke, manufactured by MOKE International, you benefit from quality-controlled manufacturing, genuine parts, and a After-sales service available near you, and clear guarantees: 2 years on the vehicle, 3 years on the battery. You're not just buying a car, you're buying years of peace of mind.

Don't take any chances with a copy.
The standard
Homologation M1: a mark of seriousness, right down to the battery
Key detail too often ignored: the official electric Mini Moke is M1 approved (private vehicles), with European conformity certificate. It can be driven on all roads with a standard car driving licence (B category). Many competitors only offer a lower category, with restrictions on where they can be used. This requirement is reflected in the entire design of the vehicle, including the battery.
The interview
Our advice for preserving your Moke's battery
- Recharge regularly, without waiting for a complete discharge.
- Avoid prolonged extreme exposure.
- Have your vehicle checked by an approved workshop.
- Always prioritise Original parts during a replacement.

The Moke for summer, the Defender for winter: two iconic SUNCAR vehicles

One Classic Defender restored It’s not just any old second-hand car: it’s a refurbished icon, built to last and tailored to suit you. At SUNCAR, it’s a natural extension of the spirit of the electric Moke. In summer, you can cruise with the top down along the waterfront. When winter comes, the adventure continues, simply on different roads and whatever the weather.
Many of our customers who’ve fallen for the Moke ask us the same question: what about long journeys, winter driving and trips to the mountains? The answer can be summed up in two words: a restored Defender.
The Moke: summer, light-heartedness, the Côte d’Azur
The electric Moke is all about sunshine, short journeys and instant enjoyment. Quiet, open-top and cheerful, it’s made for coastal drives, aperitifs at the harbour and summer getaways. Zero emissions, easy to recharge, a smile guaranteed: it embodies the Côte d’Azur way of life. When everyone turns to look as you drive past, you know you’ve made the right choice. But summer lasts only one season, whilst the desire to get away never ends.

The restored Defender: winter, long journeys, all kinds of roads
When the warmer months give way to long journeys and winter getaways, the restored Land Rover Defender takes over. Sturdy, timeless and built to cover the miles as easily as it tackles snow-covered tracks, it offers a unique character and bespoke comfort. A restored Defender is a vehicle that has been completely overhauled: the chassis has been treated, the mechanics made more reliable and the interior refurbished. It’s a world away from a worn-out second-hand car. It’s the ideal companion for long journeys, weekends in the mountains and the toughest of seasons.
Why choose a Defender for winter and long journeys?
Whilst the Moke shines in summer, the Defender excels when the weather turns rough. With four-wheel drive, generous ground clearance and a protective cabin, it’ll take you skiing, out into the countryside or on holiday journeys with complete peace of mind. And because it has been restored and made more reliable, you can enjoy the charm of a classic without the mechanical headaches. You can drive with peace of mind, summer or winter, on the road or off-road.
Restoration, preparation and customisation: true expertise
Behind every restored Defender lies the work of a true specialist. Restoring a Defender cannot be done on the fly: it involves stripping the chassis back to bare metal, ensuring the mechanics are reliable and paying meticulous attention to every finish. Added to this is the preparation and customisation: bespoke colour schemes, leather upholstery, equipment and an engine chosen to suit your needs. Whether it’s an authentic Classic Defender or a custom Defender designed to reflect your personality, the principle remains the same: a unique vehicle, made just for you, and delivered ready to drive anywhere in France.
Two vehicles, one spirit SUNCAR
The Moke and the Defender aren’t rivals: they complement each other. The same taste for authenticity, the same attention to detail, the same way of life. The Moke for the light-heartedness of summer, the restored Defender for the character of winter and long journeys. One brand, two seasons, a single trusted destination to enjoy adventure all year round.

There are mornings when you get in your car and think of other things. And there are mornings when you get into the Electric moke, and just like that, you’re already on holiday. Not because you’ve changed your destination. But because you’ve changed your vehicle.

The Legacy
An automotive icon born in 1964 for one reason alone: freedom
The Electric moke was not born to be practical. She was born to be free.
Since 1964, this iconic convertible has travelled along all the roads where life is more beautiful: the Atlantic coastline of Biarritz, the beaches of Île de Ré, the quays of Deauville, the boulevards of Paris in summer, and the Provençal ports of Saint-Tropez, Cannes and Monaco. It belongs to no particular place. It belongs to those who know how to appreciate a journey for what it is.
MOKE International, the manufacturer The original versus the copies
Sixty years on, it’s back. Silent. 100 % electric. Zero emissions. As irresistible as ever. An icon that even won over Brigitte Bardot in its day.
The experiment
That holiday feeling on every journey
There's something happening when you get into a Electric moke.
With the top down, the wind in your hair, the silence of the electric motor – nothing but the sound of the road and your surroundings. Whether you’re on the Boulevard de la Grande Plage in Biarritz, at the harbour in Saint-Tropez, on the quays in Deauville or driving along the coast of the Île de Ré, the feeling is the same: you’re no longer just getting from A to B. You’re simply enjoying the moment.
That’s the electric Moke for you. Not a day-to-day runabout. A machine for making memories.

Why choose an electric convertible?

And for special occasions: on the Côte d’Azur, the Moke has become one of the most charming ways to arrive on your wedding day.
The Moke Effect
What other cars don't do
People stop. They look. They smile.
The Electric moke creates something that’s quite rare these days: spontaneity. Conversations with strangers. Photos taken without being asked. A presence in the landscape that can’t really be explained, but which everyone senses.
Some designs stand the test of time because they got something essential right from the very beginning. The Moke is one of them. And because an icon deserves to be looked after as such, its technical servicing is carried out by an official partner on the Côte d’Azur.

Electric Mini Moke: Copied, Never Equalled: The Original Vs. the Imitations
Electric Mini Moke: copied, never equalled – the original versus the imitations
Flattery, it is said, is the most sincere form of admiration. As such, the Mini Moke should feel very admired.
For decades, car manufacturers around the world have tried to replicate its silhouette, its proportions and its spirit. The result: a series of imitations which, unwittingly, prove that there are some things that simply cannot be copied.
And things you can’t make up either, such as type approval.
The findings
Why is the Mini Moke so often imitated?
The answer is in one sentence: the Mini Moke is visually perfect.
Its lines are the result of technical constraints taken to the extreme. Alec Issigonis, its designer, made simplicity his philosophy: no unnecessary lines, no superfluous ornamentation. Every curve, every angle has a purpose. And that is precisely what makes it impossible to reproduce faithfully; one can copy the form, but not the logic behind it.
Born in 1964, the Mini Moke has spanned six decades whilst remaining true to itself. The manufacturers who drew inspiration from it did not have that kind of patience.
Appearance
Copies: what we see, what we don’t see
Models such as the Kate or the Bee Beach are marketed as alternatives to the Mini Moke. And you have to give them credit for one thing: at first glance, the resemblance can be striking.
But on closer inspection, the differences are everywhere, and some of them are not merely stylistic. They are regulatory.
M1 certification: the difference that makes all the difference
This is a point that few sellers of imitation models highlight. The electric Mini Moke distributed by SUNCAR France is type-approved M1, the European regulatory category for fully-fledged passenger cars. It is authorised to drive on all the roads in France urban roads, national roads, expressways, motorways. It is driven with a Standard B driving licence.
Replicas – such as the Kate, Bee Beach and other "mini-convertible" style vehicles – are type-approved, but in a Different category : heavy quadricycles (category B1). These are standard cars, but their regulatory status implies significant restrictions:
- They cannot travel on fast lanes or motorways
- They behave without a driving licence- with a simple B1 permit (motor tricycles, quadricycles equivalent to heavy motor quadricycles)
- Their use is therefore structurally limited to the town and secondary roads
It’s not a quality fault. It’s simply a different type of vehicle, designed for a different purpose, sold in packaging that looks like a proper car.
Before making any purchase, it's worth asking the question: where do I need to ride? And what vehicle legally allows me to do so?
Key points: The electric Moke is type-approved Category M1, just like a car. A Category B driving licence, from the age of 18, and access to all roads open to traffic. Category L quadricycles, however, remain banned from dual carriageways and motorways.
The network and customer service
Buying an electric vehicle also means buying after-sales service, readily available spare parts, and a brand that will still be around in five years’ time. Moke International is an established manufacturer, with an official distribution network present in several countries. At SUNCAR France, the after-sales service is provided by EV Garage Riviera, a specialist in electric vehicles on the Côte d'Azur.
The copies, however, raise a simple question: who do you call when something goes wrong?
The finishes
The electric Moke is meticulously assembled. The aluminium logo on the grille, the quality of the upholstery, the customisation options (steering wheel, colour scheme, seats, wheel rims) – every detail is a testament to genuine industrial craftsmanship.
An imitation can reproduce the silhouette. It cannot reproduce the rigour that lies behind it.
1964
What a copy cannot reproduce: history
The Mini Moke was driven by Brigitte Bardot in Saint-Tropez. She drove into The Italian Job. She lived through the British Sixties, Mediterranean glamour and the golden age of the Côte d’Azur.
This story is not a marketing ploy. It is a fact. And it creates something real: instant recognition, cultural legitimacy, and a presence in the collective imagination that sixty years of photographs, films and memoirs have built up.
When you drive a Moke, people know it. When you drive a copy, they feel it.
The value
Choosing authenticity: what you’re really buying
Choosing the Moke means choosing:
- A brand with a history, first produced in 1964, reimagined as an electric car, officially distributed in France by SUNCAR
- An M1-approved vehicle, driving permitted on all roads: urban, national, expressways and motorways
- Reliable after-sales service : EV Garage Riviera, an EV specialist on the Riviera
- Real customisation : 6 official colour schemes, upholstery options, wheel rims, steering wheel, embroidery, bespoke personalisation
- A defensible investment, the Moke still enjoys a certain status, reputation and demand
And from €449 a month on a lease-purchase scheme, with a flexible deposit and home delivery, the original is no longer out of reach.
-> invest in the original with suitable funding

To conclude
Conclusion: some things simply cannot be imitated
There are some designs that stand the test of time. The Mini Moke is one of them – not by chance, but because it was designed just right from the very start.
Imitations pay tribute, in their own way. But above all, they confirm one thing: when something is really good, everyone wants a piece of it.
We might as well go straight to the source. With a real car. On all roads.

Fancy a spin in the original?

A drive in a Mini Moke along the Côte d’Azur is an experience in a class of its own. With the top down, the warm breeze on your face and the sea in the background, the Côte d’Azur was made for this. And the electric Moke – quiet and open-top – is the perfect companion.
Here are our favourite Mini Moke driving routes, between Nice, Monaco, Cannes and Saint-Tropez.
What is a Mini Moke? The Electric Moke in detail

Itinerary 1: Nice, from the Promenade to the Hills
Distance: 25 km Estimated duration: 1.5 to 2 hours Profile Beginner, ideal for a first attempt
For this first drive in a Mini Moke, the Promenade des Anglais is, of course, the starting point. But if you stick to the seafront, you’ll miss out on the best bits.
From the Promenade, head up towards Old Nice and its ochre-coloured alleyways. Then head towards the Corniche Inférieure, which runs along the coast to the east. The views of the Mediterranean gradually open up. In a Moke, every bend is an invitation to slow down.
Recommended stop: Villefranche-sur-Mer, one of the most beautiful coastal villages. The harbour is one of the deepest in the Mediterranean.
Practical tip: Set off early in the morning (before 9 am) or late in the afternoon (after 5 pm) to avoid the summer traffic and make the most of the golden light.
For tips and events: Nice Tourist Office
Itinerary 2: The Corniche to Monaco
Distance: 20 km from Nice Estimated duration: 45 mins to 1 hr · Profile Easy, spectacular
Nice → Èze → Monaco. This stretch of the Grande Corniche is one of the most photographed in France. Travelling in an electric Moke – silent and offering unobstructed views of the landscape – takes the experience to a whole new level.
From Nice, take the Route de la Grande Corniche (D2564). The winding road gradually climbs above the coastline. To the left: the Mediterranean. Below: the rooftops of the coastal towns. Above: the azure sky.
Recommended stop: Èze Village. This medieval village, perched at an altitude of 400 metres, offers a 360° view of the coast. The exotic garden is well worth a visit.
Arrival Monaco: Descend towards the Rock and Port Hercules. The Moke in this setting of yachts and limestone cliffs is a picture in itself.
Autonomy This journey is 20 km, well below the Moke’s range (129 km). You can make a round trip and still have time to potter about.
Itinerary 3: Cannes and the Seaside
Distance: 30 km from Nice Estimated duration: 1 hour drive, 2 hour walk Profile easy
The Croisette in Cannes is one of the most famous avenues in the world. In a Moke convertible, with the sun and the sea, it’s exactly the setting it deserves.
Head to Cannes via the motorway or the coastal road (more scenic, but longer). Once on La Croisette, drive slowly. The palm trees, the façades of the luxury hotels, the beach just a stone’s throw away. Park up and walk down to the Vieux Port.
Recommended stop: Le Marché Forville, if you are there in the morning. Then the Port, for a coffee facing the boats.
For photographers: The late afternoon light on La Croisette, with the Moke in the foreground, is a visual brief in itself.
Itinerary 4: Saint-Tropez and the peninsula
Distance: 100 km from Cannes Estimated duration: 1 hour 30 minutes drive · Profile day trip
Saint-Tropez is the ultimate destination for a spin in a Mini Moke. Brigitte Bardot made the Moke legendary there. The harbour, the beaches of Pampelonne, the vineyards of Ramatuelle – every scene is like a postcard.
Suggested itinerary on site
1. Arrival by Saint-Tropez Port, parking and a walk through the alleyways
2. Route de la plage de Pampelonne (D93), vineyards, wild lavender and the sea at the end
3. Ramatuelle, a medieval village, market if you are there on a Thursday or Sunday
4. Return via La Croix-Valmer for a different view of the peninsula
Charging advice: Make sure you plan to recharge in Saint-Tropez. There are several charging points available in town. The 129 km range is sufficient for journeys around the peninsula, but the return journey to Cannes or Nice will require some planning.
Note: We occasionally organise free trials of the Moke in Saint-Tropez, Port of Saint-Tropez and Ramatuelle.

Our tips for a successful Mini Moke outing
The weather first
The French Riviera enjoys over 300 days of sunshine a year. But a Moke without a top in the rain is a different matter altogether. Check the Weather conditions Météo France before you set off. Outside July and August, mornings can be chilly, so do bring a light jacket.
Departure time
Morning golden hour (7am–9am): golden light, clear roads. Evening golden hour (5pm–7pm): the same magic, but check the time of sunset depending on the season.
Parking
In the town centres of the Côte d'Azur during the high season, parking is a challenge in its own right. Arrive early or try the out-of-town car parks and finish off with a stroll.
Autonomy
129 km is more than enough for most of these routes. For Saint-Tropez, plan to recharge whilst you’re there. Allow 2 hours on a Type 2 socket (charging point or wallbox), or 4 to 5 hours on a Green’Up high-power socket. Just enough time for a nice lunch.

Mini Moke France: the electric beach car is back
Mini Moke France, summer 2026: the iconic 1964 convertible now runs on 100 % electric power. There are some cars you recognise at a glance. Silhouettes that are part of our collective memory, of childhood summers, of seaside scenes. The Mini Moke is one of those. And in France, it’s making a comeback, looking better than ever.

The origins
What is a Mini Moke?
The Mini Moke is a small convertible car first produced in England in 1964, designed by Alec Issigonis using the Mini’s mechanical components. Originally conceived as a lightweight, no-frills vehicle, it quickly became a seaside icon on the beaches of the Côte d’Azur, from Saint-Tropez to Monaco. Its name comes from «moke», an old English word for a mule, a nod to its robust and no-frills character.
Open-top, doorless and cheerful, the Mini Moke has never tried to be like any other car. Today, it’s been reborn as the 100 % electric model: the same timeless design, the same open-air freedom, but silent and with zero emissions.
Everything you need to know about the electric Moke
1964
The Birth of an Icon
The Mini Moke was born in England in 1964, designed to be simple, light and open to the world. A convertible with no frills, it quickly took the beaches of the Côte d’Azur and the Mediterranean by storm. Luxury hotels adopted it as their prestige runabout. Within a few seasons, it became the symbol of a certain way of life: sunny, free and elegant.
Brigitte Bardot has one, and the image of the Moke in Saint-Tropez is doing the rounds around the world.
The Renaissance
The Electric MOKE: The icon reinvents itself
Sixty years on, MOKE International resurrect this legend. The same silhouette, recognisable from a mile off. The same convertible spirit, the same wind-in-your-hair sense of fun. But this time, the MOKE is 100 % electric, zero emissions, and quieter than ever. It is still hand-assembled in England, which sets it apart from the copies that have since appeared.
MOKE International, the manufacturer The original versus the copies
In France, it is SUNCAR France, official distributor based in Nice, which markets it. That makes sense for a car designed for the Mediterranean.
In France

Convertible & electric convertible in 2026: the complete guide
The electric convertible, a new way to drive in 2026
The wind in your hair. The silence of the electric motor. The sun shining on the dashboard. This is no longer just a fantasy from an advertising brochure; it’s the reality of electric convertibles in 2026.
The market has changed. So has the range of models on offer. If you’re looking for an electric convertible – an open-top car that’s emission-free and stylish – here’s what you need to know.
Why an electric convertible?
A petrol-powered convertible is all about the sound of the engine, the vibrations and the smell of exhaust fumes. Some people find these things enjoyable. But when you’re driving with the top down, these sensations quickly become overwhelming.
The electric convertible changes everything. The silence of the electric motor amplifies the sounds of the surroundings: the wind, the waves, the birds. You’re no longer at odds with your own vehicle; you become one with it.
From a practical standpoint, the advantages are the same as for any electric vehicle:
- Zero emissions in use
- Lower maintenance costs (no oil changes, fewer wear-and-tear parts)
- Charging is available at home or at a charging point
- Access to low-emission zones (LEZs) in towns and citiesGreen bonus
- Ecological bonus in effect
What does the market offer in 2026?
According to motoring experts, electric cars are emerging as a new way of experiencing motoringAutomobile Magazine.
The market for electric convertibles is still relatively small. This is precisely where the Moke stands out.
Here is an honest overview of the options available in France:
The major builders- Very few manufacturers offer electric 100% convertibles. There are a few concept cars and announcements, but actual launches remain rare. The shift to electric vehicles began with saloons and SUVs. Convertibles are following at a slower pace.
Electric roadsters : Models do exist, but they are aimed at a niche market and come with high price tags (often in excess of €50,000). They perform well, but are a far cry from the "open-air, free and accessible" ethos.
The electric Moke : First produced in 1964, now reimagined as an electric car. The Moke is in a class of its own: a characterful, four-seater convertible, 100% electric, recharges in 2 hours via a Type 2 socket, from €449 per month on a lease-purchase agreement. It doesn’t compete with a supercar; it offers something else: style, freedom and iconic status.

The electric Moke: what it is, what it isn’t
What it is:
- A 4-seater electric convertible, model 100%
- An icon first launched in 1964, redesigned for today
- The most photographed vehicle on the French Riviera
- A car with character, available in six exclusive colours
- An offer available under a lease-purchase scheme from €449 per month
What it is not:
- A grand tourer (not designed for 800 km on the motorway)
- An estate car (4 comfortable seats, but no extra-large boot)
- An imitation or a copy of anything
How do I get started?
At SUNCAR France, official distributor for MOKE INTERNATIONAL, we offer:
- Some free trials on the French Riviera (Nice, Cannes, Monaco, Saint-Tropez)
- A Home delivery across France, Switzerland and Monaco
- One LOA financing From €449/month, flexible deposit, duration 24 to 60 monthsCA Auto Bank
- One Dedicated SAV via EV Garage Riviera
The best way to choose? Give it a try. Thirty minutes is enough.

In summary
The market for electric convertibles in 2026 remains niche, which makes the Moke all the more unique. In a segment with little competition, it combines everything one looks for in an open-top car: style, lightness, quietness and affordability.
Sixty years in the world of cinema, in the pages of fashion magazines and on the roads of the Côte d’Azur have forged something that no newcomer can buy: a history.
